Grant 2017-2018 from Office for the fight against homophobia

FIERTÉ AGRICOLE RECEIVES A $30,000$ GRANT FOR ITS PROJECT
“YOU CAN BE DIFFERENT IN THE COUNTRY”»

St-Hyacinthe, April 3rd, 2017 – Fierté agricole is pleased to announce the launch of its project “You can be different in the country.” Following the 2016-2017 call for proposals launched by the Minister of Justice, Stéphanie Vallée, through the Fight against Homophobia program, Fierté Agricole receives a $ 30,000 grant to support its project.

This grant will enable the realization of the following two components :

– Firstly, Fierté Agricole will meet with young people from agricultural schools in Quebec, at the high school, college and university levels. These young people represent the next generation of farmers in Quebec or future workers who will have to work closely with the farmers.

– Secondly, Fierté Agricole will organize a large provincial conference bringing the agricultural, rural and agri-food sectors together. Organizations from the health and socio-community sectors will also be present. The project “You can be different in the country” aims to demystify the realities specific to the various gender identities and sexual orientations. It also promotes recognition of these realities in the future work environment of students and in the current workplace of farmers and various stakeholders in agriculture.

With the beautiful team of Fierté Agricole, it is true that one can be different in the country!
